LAKE FOREST, Ill. — A new year has not brought new success to the Bears early in 2023, instead, it's only continued struggles that were there in 2022. While Sunday was a little closer than the difficult Week 1 defeat at the hands of the Packers at home, it still hammered home the fact that the team is still far off from being a contender in the National Football League.Even quarterback Justin Fields agreed after a 27-17 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday, dropping the Bears to 0-2 on the still-young season.“I think we have a long way to go," said the quarterback to the media at Raymond James Stadium. "I just think, if we keep working, we'll get there. I think everybody has to keep that mindset. I think in this position, 0-2, you can do one of two things and that's either lay down and just kind of throw in the towel and just say whatever. "But I don't think anybody on the team is like that."Yet things are not easy for a group that's approaching a full year since they last won a regular...Marines issue stand-down order amid search for missing F-35

(The Hill) — The Marine Corps on Monday issued a service-wide stand-down order for all aviation units inside and outside the country after an F-35B fighter jet disappeared over South Carolina.Marine Corps acting commandant Gen. Eric Smith ordered the two-day pause following three aviation “mishaps” over less than two months – including the disappearance an F-35 fighter jet on Sunday. The advanced $80 million jet went missing after its pilot “safely ejected” for unknown reasons over North Charleston, with Joint Base Charleston on Monday asking the public to call them if they have any information to help recovery teams find the aircraft. The pilot who ejected was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition, and the incident is under investigation, base officials said. In a service-wide email, the Marine Corps said the safety stand down will include discussions led by aviation commanders “focusing on the fundamentals of safe flight operations, g...There are two 'Monday Night Football' games this week — why?

(NEXSTAR) — If you were looking to see who plays in "Monday Night Football" for Week 2, you may have had to do a double-take after seeing two games slated rather than the traditional single game. You may recall seeing this last year. The Tennessee Titans faced off against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 and the Minnesota Vikings played the Philadelphia Eagles in the first-ever two-game Monday Night Football series as part of a new deal. The reason? It's part of new broadcasting agreements the NFL reached with ESPN. The deal, completed in 2021, gave ESPN and fellow Disney-owned network ABC more games, The Athletic explains. Former NFL player missing, mother found dead in Illinois creek September 18 marks one of three multigame Mondays this season. In this round, the New Orleans Saints will visit the Carolina Panthers, with the game set to kick off at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN. Then, an hour later, the Cleveland Browns will play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on ABC.You can expect the seco...iOS 17 now available: Here's what's new in the major update

Texas swaps with Florida State in AP Top 25, Longhorns have highest ranking since 2009 "We just have to know what we're walking into," Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said. After hosting Dalton Risner for a visit a month and a half ago, the Vikings are finally bringing the veteran offensive lineman on board. A source confirmed to the Pioneer Press that the Vikings have agreed to terms with Risner and he’s expected to arrive in Minnesota this week. This is a huge addition for the 0-2 Vikings given their struggles on the offensive line in losses to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles. It was a similar story in both games as the Vikings were unable to run the ball with any sort of consistency.Maybe the writing was already on the wall when head coach Kevin O’Connell talked to reporters last week at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Asked postgame if he felt confident with the options the Vikings have on the offensive line, O’Connell left the door open for potentially adding a player at some point.“I do have a lot of confidence in our guys,” O’Connell said. “But clearly we’ve got to do somethi...MN Highway 3 safety is topic of Farmington meeting
