Setting records is not enough for the 2022-23 Boston Bruins. They apparently have to do it in dramatic fashion. Not only did the B’s set the record for most wins in a season with their 63rd in a 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, they rode David Pastrnak’s hat trick that gave the sniper his 58th, 59th and 60th goals of the season to get there. While the B’s leap-frogged the 1995-96 Red Wings and 2018-19 Lightning for the record, Pastrnak become the first Bruins since Phil Esposito in 1974-75 to hit reach the 60-goal plateau. Wells Fargo Arena was a fitting spot for Pastrnak, who scored his very first NHL goal there on January 10, 2015.Two points in their last two games would also give the B’s the record for points in the season, currently held by the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens with 132, though that mark would come with a fat asterisk. That Habs team played an 80-game season and in the pre-overtime era before the extra point was available in OT.As expecte...Easthampton School Committee will hold meeting about superintendent search after ‘ladies’ comment controversy

WGN weekly climate report: Let's get our wintery stuff out of the way firstApril is our 6th snowiest month of the year in Chicago. With an average of just 1.3" of snow, April just barely beats out the average 1.8" typical for November for last place in our typical snow season. The difference between the two extreme sides of the snow season is that we typically see November snow stick around, while April snow rarely manages to stay longer than 24 hours. This year's snow season started November 4th with a few tenths of an inch of snow to what appears to be March 13th with two tenths of snow. We did see traces of snow earlier and later—but those are the dates for measurable snow reported at O'Hare. We only know the snow season is over until it's fully in the rear-view mirror... so barring a freakish late April snow— I think it's pretty much a done deal. And the 19.7" of snow we got over the course of our cold season is only about 51% of normal for Chicago. HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Newly elected Hays County District Attorney Kelly Higgins said they are dealing with a backlog of more than 5,000 unfiled criminal cases. He said some of those cases date back to the second half of 2021."From, you know, murderers, to smoking a joint, right, I mean, the whole range," Higgins said. How did we get here?Higgins said the cases were so backed up because of the office's intake process from previous administrations. "There's either a warrant or a field arrest without a warrant made, and then a police officer will write a report about that and forward that report to our office. And that's our first look at any case," he said. Higgins said intake coordinators will then look at the case, create a file and start filling it with information a lawyer might want to determine what to do with that case. However, he said they were spending too much time processing information in a way that was "duplicative, redundant and unhelpful." RELATED COVERAGE: 83...Latest news
