Daly City man sentenced to 9 years in prison after assaulting police officer REDWOOD CITY — A Daly City man was sentenced to nine years in prison in connection to the 2021 assault of a police officer that led to a struggle over a loaded gun, according to prosecutors.Rafael Jesus Candray Jr., 28, was sentenced on Nov. 15 after he pled no contest to the charge as part of a deal for the six-year sentence in relation to the assault and another three years for a previous felony drunk driving charge. He received slightly more than three years’ credit for time served.Around 10 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2021, Daly City police responded to a report that a man was drunk and being abusive to his mother in the 1000 block of St. Francisco Boulevard. The man, Candray, fled the scene when he noticed that police had arrived, authorities said.Prosecutors said Candray returned to the home just two hours later and banged on the door before attempting to force his way into the home. State gives county grant for new mental health facility in Richmond (BCN) -- Contra Costa County has received an 18.6 million grant from the state it will use to build a new mental health rehabilitation center, the county announced Tuesday. Contra Costa Health officials said the new facility will be built on county-owned property at 847 Brookside Drive in Richmond. The facility will serve patients experiencing serious mental illness who need 24-hour residential care, but don't need hospitalization, according to the county. Man accused of killing 3 over property dispute arrested DENVER (KDVR) — A man who allegedly shot and killed three people and injured another in Custer County, south of Colorado Springs, was arrested Tuesday afternoon.According to the Custer County Sheriff's Office, 45-year-old Hanme K. Clark was taken in to custody by New Mexico State Police.
