Akira Ross, 24, died in the shooting. Bradley Stanford, 23, was charged with murder in her death. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Animal Advisory Commission will discuss rules related to interactive animal encounters at the Austin Aquarium during its monthly meeting Monday night. According to city documents, if the commission approves the measure, it would request the Austin City Council consider amending city code to target a for-profit zoo or aquarium specifically. It would ban public interaction with wild animals when a facility isn’t accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Last month, a woman said a lemur attacked her at the Aquarium during what the facility calls an "encounter." MANOR, Texas (KXAN) -- The Manor Police Department has identified and arrested a driver connected with a deadly hit-and-run that happened off U.S. Highway 290 late in May. Manor PD identifies woman killed in apparent hit-and-run near U.S. Highway 290 Last month, a woman's body was found in a ditch near Gregg Manor Road and U.S. 290 westbound. MPD identified the woman as 54-year-old Alisa Allen. Police began investigating her death as a hit-and-run. Manor PD said in a Facebook post Monday that police identified the suspect as Kawaski Latham.Latham was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death, which is a second-degree felony.KXAN has reached out to Latham's attorney. Anthony Carter pleaded not guilty to three counts of attempted murder in the second degree, one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and one count of reckless endangerment in the first degree. LOUIS - A former St. Louis alderman was indicted last week on allegations of committing insurance fraud while in office.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Brandon Bosley was charged with three felony wire fraud charges on June 7.The grand jury's indictment was unsealed on Monday, June 12, when Bosley made his first appearance in federal court.
