MILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Stewart's Shops has announced that it is closing its shop at 404 Geyser Road in Milton. The shop will be closing on April 30. "In most areas, Stewart’s Shops have the space to be the community grocery store, restaurant and gas station and this shop cannot expand to fit those needs," said Stewart’s Shops President Gary Dake. "It is always a difficult decision to close a shop, and we would like to thank all our loyal customers for their business."The company said all employees will be offered placement at other shops. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Looking for new books for summer reading? On May 6 and 7, the Friends of Schenectady County Public Library is hosting a giant book sale with over 40,000 books available. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! There will be books for all ages in addition to CDs and DVDs. Most books will be for sale for $1 or less. The book sales will be held at the Schenectady County Public Library at 99 Clinton Street.The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 6 and from 12 to 3 p.m. on May 7. All proceeds benefit the Schenectady County Public Library system.

Superintendent Gregg Barthelmas spoke, though no school representatives addressed the ongoing police investigation into the alleged shooter, Kevin Monahan. Instead, they focused "on the beautiful person Kaylin was, and all she added to our school community."Kaylin was known for her art. NEWS10 received a copy of a piece of art she created of popstar Billie Eillish.Police say Monahan opened fire when a vehicle mistakenly pulled into his driveway around 10 p.m. on April 15. Kaylin was inside the vehicle and fatally injured. Monahan faces a charge of second-degree murder.

Apartments coming to the former Clifton Park Kmart site

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Clifton Park Town Planning Board has approved the final site plan for two multi-family apartment buildings at the former Kmart site. MARION, Ill. - Just because marijuana is legal in Illinois, doesn't mean you can transport as much as you want around the state. A Mississippi man was arrested in rural Southern Illinois after three garbage bags filled with cannabis were found during a traffic stop.According to Chief David Fitts, Marion Police Department, the incident happened overnight Monday on Interstate 57, just north of Marion.A Marion police officer saw a vehicle speeding through an interstate construction zone just before 1 a.m. and conducted a traffic stop. The two Republicans vying to be Missouri’s next attorney general continue building their campaign war chests, with both reporting more than $1 million cash on hand. Incumbent Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who was appointed to the job in January when his predecessor won a U.S. Senate seat, raised $305,000 during the first three months of 2023. He has $293,000 cash on hand. The political action committee supporting his run, called Life and Liberty PAC, raised $644,000 and has $710,000 cash on hand. Independent PACs don’t have to abide by the same contribution limits as candidates. Meanwhile, Will Scharf — a former assistant U.S. attorney and policy director in Gov. Eric Greitens’ brief administration — reported raising $107,000, with $875,000 cash on hand. Missing Glen Haven man found dead after days-long search

A Glen Haven man who went missing in Larimer County on Friday evening has been found dead.Jerry Allbright, 53, was last seen April 14 after he left his home on foot and did not return, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Allbright texted family members early the next day saying he was lost in the mountains, and they called the sheriff’s office that afternoon after they couldn’t find him.Cellphone data indicated the text message came from a mile and a half away from the road Allbright’s house is on, but search and rescue attempts were unsuccessful.The sheriff’s office on Wednesday said a search crew found a man’s body believed to be Allbright on Tuesday evening, but due to the hazardous terrain and fading light, the team couldn’t recover the body.The Larimer County Coroner, investigators and a ground recovery crew returned to the location Wednesday morning to complete the recovery.“While this isn’t the outcome w...
