(SCS) on Tuesday reported earnings of $30.8 million in its fiscal third quarter.The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company said it had net income of 26 cents per share. Police arrest 6th student involved in violent attack near Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School

Police arrested a sixth and final person who was involved in a fight among students near a Broward County high school.Anthony Casseus, a 15-year-old student from Coral Glades High School, was arrested on Wednesday. He was charged with felony battery.Police said Casseus was part of the group that attacked the victim.The incident stemmed from a video of a fight at a parking lot across the street from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.The victim was body-slammed backward and taken to the hospital. He is expected to be OK On Monday, a fifth subject, Jahmeer Beauziel, 17, turned himself in to Coral Springs Police. The Coast Guard repatriated 45 Cuban migrants on Friday after they were caught off Islamorada The migrants were seen around 1 p.m. on Dec. 11 about 40 miles southeast of Islamorada by U.S. Coast Guard officials.Officials picked up the migrants aboard a Coast Guard cutter and gave them food, water, shelter, and basic medical attention. “The Coast Guard and our Homeland Security Task Force Southeast partners will continue to patrol the Florida Straits, Windward and Mona passages throughout the holiday season to deter and interdict unlawful maritime migration attempts,” said Lt. Cmdr. John W. Beal, Coast Guard District Seven public affairs officer. “Anyone attempting to unlawfully immigrate to the United States by sea will be repatriated to their country of origin or departure. Do not take to the sea; use safe and lawful pathways.”So far in fiscal year 2024, which began on Oct.1, the Coast Guard said their crews have repatriated 125 migrants to Cuba.

Police make arrest in connection with fatal East Boston stabbing

Authorities say a 20-year-old man from Everett has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in East Boston.The Boston Police Department announced the arrest of 20-year-old Edwin Mendez Hernandez on Friday, a week after officers first responded to a stabbing that occurred on Gove Street the morning of Dec. 15.At the time, police found Medford resident Wilfredo Landaverde Arevalo, 34, suffering from life-threatening wounds. The victim was later pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.A week later, on Friday, Dec. 22, at 8 a.m., Boston police said the department’s Fugitive Unit arrested Hernandez in the area of 20 Hancock St. in Everett.He was expected to be arraigned sometime on Friday in East Boston District Court.
