A man was fatally shot by a U.S. Park Police officer in Northeast D.C. Saturday after he dragged another officer with a stolen car while fleeing the scene, authorities said.According to U.S. Park Police spokesman Thomas Twiname, around 8:50 a.m., a U.S. Park Police officer responded to a call to assist a D.C. police officer with a stolen car in the area of 34th and Baker Street in Northeast.The officers attempted to detain the man driving the stolen car, but the driver attempted to flee the scene in the 300 block of 36th Street NE.More DC NewsMore Local NewsThe U.S. Park Police officer was “trapped in the vehicle” and was unable to get out of the car.A second U.S. Park Police officer was “dragged” by the car as the suspect attempted to flee the scene. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) -- An armed suspect was shot and killed by an Englewood police officer on Saturday, the department said.Police responded to a suspect with a gun in the 4500 block of South Broadway around 12:45 p.m. and the suspect fled when officers arrived, Englewood Police Department Public Information Officer Scott Allen said in a news conference Saturday afternoon. A chase ensued and police encountered the suspect around Princeton Avenue and Broadway. "The armed suspect was shot by police, and suspect was transported to an area hospital," Allen said. The suspect later died. Blake Street Tavern closing after 20 years in Denver Police told FOX31 that the officer was okay. EPD said at 1:26 p.m. that Oxford Avenue was closed between Broadway and Lincoln Avenue due to the shooting.No further details were available and an investigation was ongoing. GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) -- A backcountry snowboarder was killed and two others were injured in an avalanche southwest of the Town of Marble on Friday, according to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.The three snowboarders were caught in the avalanche in Upper Rapid Creek, the CAIC website said. One snowboarder was taken out by helicopter and the other was taken by ambulance after getting themself out of the avalanche. (CNN) — A shooting during spring break celebrations in Miami Beach left one person dead and another injured Friday night, according to the Miami Beach Police Department.Officers heard gunshots near 7th Street and Ocean Drive, a palm-tree lined intersection just feet from the beach, at about 10:41 p.m. ET and responded to the scene.
