(CNN) — Authorities are working to identify a body recovered from the wreckage of the Interstate 95 collapse in Philadelphia, where crews have started around-the-clock efforts to demolish the crumbled East Coast artery that could take months to rebuild. The highway overpass came crashing down around 6:20 a.m. Sunday, after a truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline crashed and exploded in flames under it, officials said. The truck had taken an off-ramp, crashed on its side while trying to go around a curve, slammed into a wall and ignited a fire, Pennsylvania Transportation Secretary Mike Carroll said Monday. The truck driver has not been identified, and authorities have not said whether the driver survived the crash. The fire caused a stretch of the overhead northbound I-95 to fall on top of the truck, authorities said. Southbound lanes were also compromised, officials have said, and will similarly need to be repaired. The National Transportation Safety Board has said it’s beginning i...Orlando police officer accused of reckless driving, takes off during confrontation with deputy

ORLANDO, Fla. After he was confronted, the officer made a daring escape, leaving authorities stunned. The intense encounter was captured by the body camera of Deputy Hill, providing crucial evidence in this case. As the deputy attempted to pull over Officer Alexander Shaouni, he questioned the reason for the traffic stop. “What!” Shaouni exclaimed on bodycam. “I’m going to work, my man. Why are you trying to pull me over as I’m going into work?” The deputy responded, “Because you’re going 80 in a 45.” “What does it look like I am dressed for?” replied Shaouni as he was visibly disgruntled. Deputy Hill ignored the officer’s inquiry and requested to see his driver’s license, to which Shaouni defiantly responded...Bison, melted ice cream among top 10 out-of-the-ordinary hotel room service requests, survey reports

KYIV — Ukraine is facing fierce Russian resistance in the south and east, as it plugs away with a counteroffensive to retake Russia-occupied territory. The Ukrainian forces have been gaining ground, but fighting is taking place for every meter, Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said in a statement.“The enemy is doing everything to keep the captured positions. Russians actively use assault and army aviation, and conduct intense artillery fire,” Maliar said. “During the offensive, our troops encounter continuous minefields, which are combined with anti-tank ditches. All this is combined with constant counterattacks by enemy units on armored vehicles and the massive use of ATGMs and kamikaze drones.”Over the past day, Ukrainian troops have advanced 250 meters in the direction of Bakhmut in the area of the Berkhiv Reservoir, and another 200 meters in the direction of Toretsk in the Donetsk region, Maliar said. STRASBOURG — European People’s Party leader Manfred Weber denied allegations from political rivals that he is using underhand tactics to secure a narrow margin of victory in a vote that could kill off a major plank of the EU’s Green Deal on Thursday. Environment Committee chair Pascal Canfin, with the centrist Renew Europe group, accused Weber of “blackmailing” his own MEPs with the threat of expulsion if they don’t follow his group’s line to deliver a fatal blow to a nature restoration bill which the EPP argues will harm food security. “What a sign of weakness!” Canfin tweeted.Weber responded at a press conference by denying the accusations and insisting the EPP still supports the Green Deal. “If he is putting such complaints on the table, he must give me a proof of this. I can only say no, nobody is attacked,” the German MEP said, accusing Canfin of being “nervous and panicked.” One Czech EPP lawmaker Sta...Police warn of delays amid death investigation on I-93 south in Medford

“Winning Ugly” became the mantra of the 1983 White Sox, a team that stormed back from being 8 games under .500 on May 26 to win the American League West by 20 games.Despite a postseason reckoning, that ’83 season was so special to Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf that the Sox wear the sartorially-challenged uniforms from that era during Sunday home games on the South Side.Forty years later, the 29-38 Sox perfected the art of losing ugly while wearing those throwbacks. The bullpen blew their second straight ninth-inning lead Sunday in another stomach-churning loss to the Miami Marlins, leaving manager Pedro Grifol to declare “those guys are human.”Without Liam Hendriks to close either game, Joe Kelly and Kendall Graveman took turns gagging on cue, turning a would-be sweep of the Marlins into a series loss and killing any momentum from an uplifting 5-1 stretch against the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees. With a day off for recovery, the Sox begin a six-game Wes...Police investigating body found on highway in Medford
