So yesterday I bought a scratch off ticket while on my lunch break at work, something I do from time to time. I never won more than $5 bucks until yesterday I won $100 dollars. I cashed it in immediately and put it in my wallet and that was that. When I told my co-worker (who is a woman) that I won she asked me if I had called my wife to tell her and I said no, I didn’t even think it was something I would have to share with my wife. Well, my co-worker thought that was crazy and I have to tell my wife. She even insisted that I use the money to buy her something with my winnings. EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - Bringing more crime-fighting tools to the metro east will be the focus of an event later Wednesday morning in East St. Louis. This comes as the Major Case Squad is currently investigating two murder cases in the metro east.The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center is where multiple high-ranking officials including the director of the Illinois State Police, Brendan Kelly, are set to appear in a matter of hours to announce that more resources are coming to this area to try and reduce crime. The announcement is certainly timely after the violence just Tuesday in the metro east. LOUIS - Wednesday marks one year since historic flash flooding slammed the St. Louis region, a catastrophe fueled by torrential rainfall and described by regional weather experts as a "one in one-thousand year" occurrence. Two people died from flooding impacts, more than 100 people were rescued at various stages of flash flooding and thousands of homes suffered some degree of flood damage. Some parts of the St. Louis metropolitan area reported more than a foot of rainfall on July 26, 2022. The National Weather Service tracked nearly 13 inches in St. Peters, and around one foot of rain in Clayton and University City. In St. Louis City, the day marked a new record for daily rainfall, reaching 7.8 inches and breaking a record that stood more than 100 years.
