PITTSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Route 7 in Pittstown has reopened after a car crash Tuesday afternoon. New York State Police say the accident involved a wide-load commercial vehicle and two passenger vehicles. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Police report three injuries. The extent of the injuries is unknown, but the individuals are being transported to the hospital. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – An organization representing 24 north St. Louis County municipalities has announced a new initiative to take on crime on several fronts.Vinita Parks Mayor James McGee says it’s essential to act now.“It’s so important that we got everybody carrying guns, and it’s just the wild, wild west,” he said. “You have open carry, young people—13 (years of age)—carrying automatic weapons with extended clips.”Among the steps they’re working on: gun control legislation to address the issue of kids with guns. JENNINGS, Mo. – St. Louis County police are investigating an alleged assault at Jennings City Hall that occurred before an emergency city council meeting last week.FOX 2 has learned the investigation involves Jennings Mayor Gary Johnson and Councilman Allan Stichnote (Ward 1). Officers say they saw an altercation on Friday over the opening of city hall's front doors.Police separated both men, but neither wanted to file a police report, but now they do.St. Louis investigators are looking into possible assaults.The mayor has been at odds in recent weeks with his city council after multiple resignations. Stichnote says he was defending himself. The mayor did not respond to a request for comment.Some Denver Public Schools still don’t have air conditioning. The first week of classes for Denver Public Schools has gotten off to a hot start, but one that could impact academic performance for the students in more than 40 schools that still don’t have air conditioning.Record August heat forced the district to release students early this week as classes resumed for the 2023-2024 school year. Students at 14 schools went home around lunch time on Tuesday, and 17 principals announced early closures for Wednesday.The high temperature on Tuesday was 96 and the high for Wednesday is expected to reach 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Monday’s high of 99 degrees was a record for Aug. 21 for Denver.For years, DPS has been chipping away at a long list of schools without cooling, and it added air conditioning to 11 schools over the summer.The money to add air conditioning to the 11 schools came from a bond issue passed by Denver voters in 2020. A teen girl who disappeared in Pico Rivera was found safe on Tuesday night.The teen was identified as Kimberly Tiffany Reyes Mendoza, 16, by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department."Thank you to the public, the media, and deputy personnel for their tireless efforts in the search for Kimberly," said the LASD.At the time, Mendoza was last seen on the 4900 block of Lexington Road around 7:05 a.m.The girl's family was concerned for her well-being as she did not have a history of running away, authorities said. A Riverside County gang member was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a man in 2018 and the attempted murder of three others.The suspect was identified as Alyais Lavante Jahneal Harper, 25, by the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. On Oct. 15, 2018, Harper and two other gang members met up with the victim and his three friends near Fifth Street and Beaumont Avenue in Beaumont. “The two groups had a history of bad blood,” police said. “After exchanging words, Harper pulled out a gun and shot Cullors three times.”Harper then turned his attention to the victims' three friends and begin firing shots at them, authorities said.The victims ran into a nearby fast-food restaurant to take cover. (KRON) -- The Brentwood Police Department is searching for a teenage boy who went missing Tuesday afternoon.Marcus Velasquez, 15, was last seen leaving his home on the 400 block of Fremont Peak Drive at about 4 p.m. Remains found near Castle Rock State Park were Katie Schneider’s, police confirm Marcus is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs 250 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen in a white tank top and a blue hat. He is considered at-risk because he is on the autism spectrum and has other health issues, Brentwood police said.
