FAA says Austin airport to be the first to receive new tower simulator AUSTIN (KXAN) — After a nationwide safety review, the Federal Aviation Administration said Austin-Bergstrom International Airport will be the first of nearly 100 facilities to receive new tower simulator systems in an effort to boost Air Traffic Control safety.In an announcement Friday, the FAA said it's taking immediate action on recommendations from the review. Police and prosecutors say, with 18-year-old Trenell Johnson in custody. Court records say Johnson had already been in custody for allegedly stealing a car, leading police in a pursuit, and using his gun to threaten an officer. Court records further revealed he was freed when an organization called The Bail Project paid $3,000 to get him out.The Bail Project is based in southern California. St. Louis man with Alzheimer's missing; family desperate for answers ST. LOUIS - Robert Abu Abdul Rasheed, a 76-year-old man diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, was reported missing nearly two weeks ago. Concerns are growing for his well-being. As of Friday night, Rasheed had yet to be found. Police have issued an Endangered Silver Advisory in his disappearance. “We love him to death,” said Latonya Reed, Rasheed’s niece. “We’re looking for him. We’re worried about him.”Police said Rasheed was last seen in the 2700 block of Henrietta Street in the City of St. Louis, near S. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - There’s good reason to be thankful this weekend, especially if you drive the Jefferson Barracks Bridge daily.MODOT is preparing to restore traffic to both westbound and eastbound lanes this weekend after a year and a half of various closures along the JB bridge."They are working hard on that [bridge],” Kurt Jarvis an area resident said.In spring 2022, MoDOT began rehab work on the bridge fixing uneven lanes that had been cracked and worn down over time. Gruesome details release in Orange County woman’s death A Laguna Beach man arrested in the death of 27-year-old Tatum Goodwin used a fire extinguisher to kill her, prosecutors alleged in a new court filing on Friday.The body of Goodwin, who lived in San Clemente, was discovered on Nov. 12 by a construction worker in an alleyway off the 200 block of Ocean Avenue, near Carmelita’s restaurant where she worked.“Her body was under a chain link fence on a construction site and a sandbag had been placed on her head,” prosecutors revealed.Dino Rojas-Moreno, 26, of Laguna Hills was arrested on Wednesday and charged with Goodwin’s slaying.
