Sheriff: Grenade blast kills man, injures two sons in NW Indiana LAKE COUNTY, Ind. — A man is dead, and two of his sons are in the hospital after a hand grenade exploded in their Lakes of the Four Seasons home Saturday.According to the Lake County Sheriff's Department, police responded sometime before 6:30 p.m. to a reported explosion in a home in the 3400 block of West lakeshore Drive.Deputies said when they arrived on scene, an adult male was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead. His two sons, ages 14 and 18, were taken to an area hospital with shrapnel wounds.Upon further investigation, the LCSD said a family in the home had been going through a grandfather's belongings when they found a hand grenade, and someone reportedly pulled the pin on the device and it detonated. Fire survivor shares inspiring message during SLU graduation ceremony ST. LOUIS - It's graduation weekend for thousands of students in the St. Louis area. St. Louis University alumni John O’Leary didn’t graduate at the top of his class back in 1999, but he does have a harrowing and inspiring story he shared with new SLU graduates. Back in 1987, O'Leary watched a group of older children in his neighborhood playing with fire and gasoline. He was in a horrific accident and given a 1% chance of survival.  “I assumed, if they can do it, so can I,” said O’Leary. “With my parents gone, I walked into the garage, bent over a can of gasoline, and poured a little bit of fluid on top. Man shot on Stan Musial Bridge, in critical condition ST. LOUIS -- A man is in critical condition after a shooting on the Stan Musial Bridge along I-70 East. This happened around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. St. Louis City Police say the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Eureka fundraiser held for Hermann officer recovering from shooting EUREKA, Mo. - A fundraiser was held Saturday in support of the wounded Hermann officer Adam Sullentrup as he continues a lengthy road to recovery. Sullentrup and officer Mason Griffith were at Casey’s gas station in Hermann, Missouri, on March 12 when they tried to take a man wanted on outstanding warrants into custody. Both officers were shot. Griffith died in the shooting, and Sullentrup is recovering from critical injuries. Grandview’s John Reyes, who built Wolves into Class 5A perennial power, retiring from coaching after 21 years in Colorado After 21 years coaching high school track and field in Colorado, Grandview boys and girls coach John Reyes is looking for a new challenge.His wife, Natalie Reyes, will be right there with him.Reyes, 45, coached his final meet for the Wolves on Saturday at Jeffco Stadium, where the Grandview girls took runner-up and the boys were 15th at the state meet.
